When we opened Holden Estate Agents in Maldon back in 2010, we never imagined that one day we’d be winning Gold for South East (Essex) and Best in County for Essex at the ESTAS, the UK’s most prestigious customer service awards in property.
This month, at the Grosvenor House in London, that’s exactly what happened.
Bronze, Silver… and finally Gold
We’ve been on the ESTAS podium for years, collecting Bronze and Silver and always aiming for the top spot. Hearing our name read out for Gold was a moment the whole team will never forget. We’re absolutely chuffed!
Flying the flag for Maldon
The ceremony was hosted by Phil Spencer in front of more than 1,100 of the UK’s top property professionals, including some of the biggest estate agents in the country. To represent Maldon on the national stage, and show that a local, independent agent can deliver service good enough to win Gold, means a huge amount to us.

What makes the ESTAS so special is that there are no judges, no polished entries and no mystery shoppers. The winners are decided entirely by reviews from real customers who’ve been through the whole moving process. More than 300,000 ratings were counted this year.
