Supporting Ryan as he runs the Great North Run in memory of Bailey
This Sunday, Ryan is running the Great North Run in memory of his son, Bailey. It’s a deeply personal challenge for a cause very close to his family’s heart, and any support would mean so much.
This Sunday, 13th September, our Co-Director Ryan will be taking on the Great North Run in Newcastle in memory of his son, Bailey.
This September marks two years since Ryan and Gemma sadly lost Bailey. To keep his memory alive, Ryan has set himself an incredible challenge – starting with the Great North Run this weekend, followed by further training events over the coming months as he prepares to take on the London Marathon in April 2027.
Ryan and his family have chosen to raise money for Dystonia UK, a charity that is incredibly close to their hearts.
Bailey lived with dystonia throughout his life. As a family, Ryan and Gemma experienced first-hand just how painful, exhausting and challenging this little-known neurological condition can be, both for the person living with it and for those around them.
Dystonia is the third most common neurological movement disorder and affects more than 100,000 children and adults across the UK. It causes uncontrollable and sometimes persistent muscle movements, which can affect different parts of the body and, for some people, can continue for hours or even days.
There is currently no cure, and much is still not fully understood about the condition. The work carried out by Dystonia UK to support those affected, raise awareness and improve understanding is therefore hugely important.
As a company, we are incredibly proud to support Ryan as he takes on this challenge in Bailey’s memory.
