Ryan did it! Thank you for your incredible support
13.1 miles. One very special reason. Ryan completed the Great North Run in memory of Bailey, with an incredible amount of support behind him. We wanted to share a few words of thanks and reflect on what the day meant to Ryan, his family and everyone who supported him.
This weekend, our Co-Director Ryan completed the Great North Run in memory of his son, Bailey, crossing the finish line in a brilliant 1 hour, 50 minutes and 11 seconds.
But this was about so much more than a finishing time.
Ryan took on the challenge to keep Bailey’s memory alive and to raise money and awareness for Dystonia UK, a charity incredibly close to Ryan, Gemma and their family after Bailey lived with dystonia throughout his life.
We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already donated, shared Ryan’s story or sent messages of support. The kindness shown has genuinely meant a great deal to Ryan and his family.
Every donation helps Dystonia UK continue their important work supporting people living with dystonia and their families, while raising awareness and understanding of a condition that remains far too little known.
And if you had meant to donate but haven’t quite got around to it yet, it’s not too late. Ryan’s fundraising page is still open, and any contribution, however big or small, would be very gratefully received.
We’re all incredibly proud of Ryan for what he achieved on Sunday – and we know there was one very special person at the heart of every mile.

And with the Great North Run complete, Ryan’s journey isn’t over yet – next up is the road to the London Marathon in April 2027.
